The difference between centerless grinder and outer grinder

1. Grinding principle: when grinding on the outer grinder, it is used to grind the outer cylinder, outer cone and shoulder end face of the shaft type workpiece. When grinding with centerless grinder, there are two grinding wheels, guide wheel and grinding wheel. The guide wheel drives the cylindrical workpiece to rotate on the pad iron, and the grinding wheel plays a grinding role in the workpiece.

2. Machining accuracy: if the two types of grinding machines such as centerless grinder and outer circle grinder are more accurate, they should not be determined at will. Both grinding machines are very precise. The production and manufacturing accuracy of grinding machines are mainly dependent on the production and manufacturing accuracy of grinding machines. Centerless grinding is mainly for the processing of mass shaft products, which is the mutual extrusion grinding of grinding wheel and guide. The parts are not fixed rotation center when rotating, The external round grinding needs to fix the parts with thimble, so that it can be rotated around the axis.

3. Processing method: the workpiece of the outer grinder is to be centring, centering with the top of the head and tail frame or clamping with Chuck Centering, etc. Centerless grinder is self rotating processing by external circle. Because the roundness of the workpiece itself cannot be centrically processed, the precision of machining into a circle is not as good as that of the outer circle grinder. Therefore, it is much better to use the outer circle grinding before machining the round before going to the centerless grinder for the workpiece with higher roundness requirements.

4. Workpiece concentricity: the centerless grinder and the outer grinder are also grinding the outer circle, while the outer grinder can ensure the concentricity of the workpiece, while the centerless grinder can not guarantee the concentricity requirements of the workpiece in general.

5. Grinder application: cylindrical grinder is mainly used for precision grinding of end face, outer circle and conical surface of shaft parts in batches. It is suitable for processing shaft parts with small batch and high precision requirements in military, aerospace and general precision machining workshops. Centerless grinder is mainly used for through polishing the cylindrical surface of various ring, shaft and tube parts. For all kinds of step, cone and centerless grinder, it is mainly used for through grinding of all kinds of cylindrical parts and ring parts, as well as cutting in grinding of cone parts.

6. Grinder structure: cylindrical grinder is composed of bed and worktable, grinding wheel frame, head frame, grinding frame, longitudinal feed hand wheel, transverse feed hand wheel, reversing baffle and other parts. The centerless grinder is mainly composed of body, grinding wheel frame, guide wheel, head frame, spindle unit structure, spindle rod automatic tool loading system and other components.

7. Grinding machine features: the grinding wheel spindle bearing of cylindrical grinding machine adopts conical shaped oil wedge dynamic pressure bearing, and the grinding wheel spindle still has high bearing stiffness at low speed. Centerless grinder is characterized by good versatility, high modularity, high precision and rigidity, and high efficiency.

The big difference between centerless grinding machine and cylindrical grinding machine is that centerless grinding machine can not use fixture, only use cutter board to support workpiece, and one more guide wheel to drive workpiece grinding. However, cylindrical grinding machine needs to use center and fixture to clamp workpiece grinding without cutter board. Cylindrical grinding machine only needs grinding wheel instead of guide wheel.
